Duplex and superduplex stainless steels have become firmly established for a number of applications in the offshore sector because of their excellent combination of strength and corrosion resistance. The most commonly used alloys are, standard duplex 22%Cr (eg. UNS S31803 and S32205) and superduplex 25%Cr with a pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) ≥40 (eg. UNS S32750, S32760 and S32550). Metrode offers a comprehensive range of filler materials developed to meet industry’s needs for welding 22%Cr duplex and 25%Cr superduplex stainless steels. We have an established track record of supply to major projects in the offshore oil and gas industry. Consumables have been developed to meet the stringent requirements for toughness and corrosion resistance, increasingly demanded for critical offshore fabrications.
